Good Gets Better: Make this Greeña Colada

See what I did there? Like Piña colada. We had a slew of fresh pineapples this past week, so I have been experimenting with smoothie creations. In this recipe, the already blissful blend of pineapple and coconut is made even better with the addition of banana and spirulina, that glorious sea algae full of iron, b12 and protein. It’s so delish, it’s worth using up a bit of our solar power first thing in the morning to run the Vitamix, and I wont judge you if you add a splash of rum…just sayin’!

Greeña Coloda

Serves 2

  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 cup chunked pineapple, fresh or frozen
  • 2 cups light coconut milk
  • 1 tbs coconut manna or butter (not oil!)
  • 1 tsp spirulina powder
  • handful of ice

Throw all of your ingredients in your blender and let it rip. You may need to adjust your liquid based on whether you went with fresh or frozen ‘napple, so add more if needed. Enjoy!

I love what spirulina will do to a smoothie. The fresh fruit must make it super incredible for you too.
