Ginnifer Ditches Veganism!

Another one bites the dust! Actress Ginnifer Goodwin has given up veganism, according to an article on ShowbizSpy. While I hate to judge another’s dietary choices, I am sad to see her get fleshy. Healthy, happy vegan celebrities are great role models for those trying to live a vegan lifestyle. As they are already in the spotlight, it is easier for their voices to be heard, and I think they can do a lot for the cause.

What bothers me just as much as Ginnifer renouncing her vegan vows is her wig clause that, according to the article,  is issued into her contracts! One, WTF does that have to do with veganism!? And two, it makes me think of so many other dedicated actors who gain or lose LARGE amounts of weight for roles–Tom Hanks, Christian Bale, Natalie Portman, Charlize Theron, just to name a few. Gaining 30 pounds of muscle, taking 15 pounds off an already thin frame, or (in Theron’s case) shaving off your eyebrows to resemble a serial killer takes a lot more dedication than “growing out a very bad character haircut.” Just sayin!

On a side note, preggers Natalie Portman also ditched veganism, but I could NEVER say anything bad about Natalie…I have a serious girl crush on her..I mean, who wouldn’t?  Natalie claims to have given it up because her preggo body was craving lots of cake. I am glad she is listening to her body but, Natalie! Come visit me and I will make you all the vegan cake and cookies you and your belly-babe can handle.
